The AJ floor lamp by Louis Poulsen is perfect for reading as well as general lighting. The iconic form of Louis Poulsen’s AJ range was born in 1957 when the legendary Danish architect Arne Jacobsen designed the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, including its interior and furniture.
The AJ Floor Lamp features a bold, sculptural silhouette made from fundamental geometric shapes: a cone-shaped shade paired with a sleek cylindrical socket. Its adjustable shade, coated in matte white on the inside, casts a gentle, glare-free glow. Celebrated as a Danish design masterpiece, the AJ series stands out as one of Arne Jacobsen’s most iconic and admired creations.
The AJ floor lamp in stainless steel was re-launched in 2020 in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the opening of the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. Made of uncoated metal, the luminaire will, in time, develop a beautiful patina that not only gives it a unique character but also accentuates the lamp's nostalgic feel.
