Hayon found a lantern. He gave it three lives.
Designer: Jaime Hayon
The Formakami by Jaime Hayon is a pendant lamp rooted in the ancient craft of the Asian paper lantern — handmade from ivory white rice paper stretched over black-stained oak rings, with a black textile cord completing the composition.
Hayon's intention was simple and profound: to create a light that illuminates lives both literally and symbolically. The open top of each shade maximises light output while the translucent paper diffuses it into something warm, soft, and unmistakably human.
Available in three sizes — Small (JH3), Medium (JH4), and Large (JH5) — the Formakami scales from an intimate bedside companion to a dramatic dining room centrepiece, always with the same handmade character.
